October Crafts Fair at Patriot Park
The Smoky Mountains October calendar is stuffed full of fun and interesting things to do and our guests are making great use of creekside fire pits and picnic tables during these crisp, cool fall nights. Something we always look forward to this month is the opportunity for homespun tradition at area craft shows. One such event that you definitely don’t want to miss is the 37th Annual Rotary Club Craft Fair that runs from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily through October 26, 2013 at Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge.
This is your opportunity to shop for wares from both local and national craftsmen, browse for handmade gifts for yourself or friends, find unique Smoky Mountain home décor and even begin working on your Christmas shopping list! The Rotary Club Craft Fair features crafters and artisans with a proficiency in woodworking, Native American jewelry and gifts, quilts, stained glass, and so much more. Please feel free to stop and chat with the vendors as they are always happy to answer questions about their skills and products.
The craft show is the Rotary Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year and they strive to make the event fun for everyone starting with the colorful big red and white circus-type tent they put up each year. Proceeds collected from booth rentals, admission donations and concessions are generously donated to local non-profit organizations such as Handicap Scouts, Sevier Food Ministries, House of Hope programs, and educational scholarships.
It is easy to find Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge. From Carr’s Cottages, head to the Pigeon Forge Parkway and turn right at traffic light #7 or catch a trolley just across our covered bridge. There is plenty of free parking and fair admission is by donation.
As Rotary Club members say, “Together, We Can Make A Difference!” While you’re in town, we hope you’ll visit the Rotary Club Craft Fair and do a little holiday shopping from the vast selection of handmade and homemade gifts. Your purchases will not only make wonderful surprises for friends and family, but you will be helping support several gracious charities. And who knows… you just might find there’s a craftsperson in you, too!
